Anyone heard of the Polynesians in Texas doing their Haka? Well they're representing Texas Trinity Trojan High School, a 5A Division 1 Football team, with good humor. The High School team "The Trojans", have from 2000 done a Haka or Sipi Tau before their games to collect their Pacific Mana, and to boost also the crowd's Mana.
The Trinity Trojans have in their past been given a spotlight in a Gatorade Athlete commercial, showing students training hard on the field toward Texas state victories. The Tongans, Samoans, and Maori get a card of credit for the Polynesian cultural practice in the games, but the Trojans win football "as a team", along with the guidance of some very admirable Football coaches.
The coaches have been given so much praise in their open minded methods and who continue to get sincere respects from local community leaders. The coaches again are admired as both teachers and role models, and known online as a very playful bunch of guys. Trinity Coach musical videos can be found on youtube where they lip sing to some old-school jams while they analyze Football winning tactics. Between 2000-2010, within one decade, the coaches led the teams to 3 victorious in 5A Division and a State Championship. It is predicted that soon the school will have to be upgraded to 6A Division 1.
Community leader "To win State Championships, and be at such ease is a real unique football story. Polynesians in Texas have made some great friends and family, and with work, that relationship can grow stronger. We must keep moving forward, while keeping our youth focused and away from things like Gangs and Drugs. So far, the combination of the communities make a competitive and overall positive environment. God bless us all so that we may succeed, and when we do fall, because we are not perfect, help us lord to find our way again."
