Square Enix Company - FFXIV
1. The Game takes forever to get a Party. Almost all leveling and gear-runs require a Party, using something called "Part Finder" and a "Duty Finder". A Party in FFXIV takes from 30 minutes to 2 hours, if you're lucky. If there's a TROLL in the party, which there is 60% of the time, the process of looking for a party begins all over again. Even in Free-to-play Games, like the new popular games of Warframe and Fortnite, a party only takes 5 to 30 seconds. One player said it right when he said "You have to be a Que psychic to get a party in FFXIV now, knowing what time and what to que for is a huge problem."
2. FFXIV costs a monthly fee to play. Most people who play FFXIV, and who love the game were very happy to pay for a game that they knew would always update and keep adding content. The problems came when FFXIV became managed wrong, and started banning their own paying customers for minor or petty disputes within the game. On the server LAMIA, people reported that when they go into PVP areas, the pre-made party cheaters will be the first to make false complaints against to the real paying gamers, wanting to get accounts banned that might keep them from farming in-game points.
3. Over control of the game. The game has been called "An Autistic's Disney World". There is no Free Speech within the game, yelling or shouting in the wrong place will result in the paying customer getting banned or suspended. All progress that the account acquired will be lost. Instead of simply not putting "shout options" in certain regions of the game, FFXIV rather punish people, and keep them guessing as to what's accepted and what is not. The Markets within the game are also over managed with each server now having similar prices and crafting depends on the markets.
4. Housing is Limited. A big part of the game is HOUSING, owning a private home and building a Free-Company house (Clan), is one of the features that brought in so many gamers when FFXIV first started. Unfortunately, FFXIV thought it was funny to see people play rush for in-game housing, and only created a very limited amount, so now only Older players own homes, new players get stuck with apartments and FC rooms. FFXIV feeds off of the gamer's "I Wants", and then makes sure that it takes months for a person to progress. FFXIV online has slowly become a Witch's Ginger Bread House, baiting public, then sucking them dry for real-life time. The new players get frustrated and quit.
5. Snooze ya lose. Over the years, FFXIV has created a lot of game content, stuff that can no longer be accessed, if you dont do what the crowd is doing, you'll miss out. If a player does not keep up with current gaming events, it will be hard for him or her to access it later. FFXIV brags that they have 2 million people subscribed, and their trailers show people gathering in parties and taking on BOSS fights, yet paying customers will see main cities empty, large abandoned open world areas, and FATES unable to participate in without certain numbers. Also people will see cities with 50 or so active accounts, but the accounts will be standing in idle positions (Ghost accounts that never move). People simply wanted FFXIV to keep it's commercial promise of being a Mass Multi-player Online Role Playing Game (MMORPG) instead of it really being a game separated into server isolation, with bots and Gil sellers as fellow players.
This article was not meant to offend the FFXIV creators, but is meant to help address real problems with a game that was once a favorite among the gaming community.
