Samoan Eliota Fuimaono Sapolu
It was a public mess-up when Referee Nigel Owens was spotted by Rugby fans, on numerous calls, said to be favoring the opposite team. Even main-stream media brushed at the possibility of the Welsh Referee Owens being assigned to the position, to that specific game and juncture, inside the World Rugby Cup 2011 to hinder Pacific Islander teams in participation.
The statements by Eliota Fuimaono Sapolu were looking to feed even more media backfire along with the IRB disciplinary measures toward Eliota, which seemed to just make fans more angry at the IRB process. Eliota Fuimaono Sapolu took on the Rugby panel almost single handed while the World Rugby governing body threatened the regular "paper threat" of suspension. The Samoan Rugby player Mr. Eliota is also a graduated Lawyer in New Zealand.
"Polynesian Rugby Nations dont have to put up with World Rugby rules like many think they do. Polynesian Rugby could be more popular with other Asia Pacific Nations and completely ignore the Northern western-sphere. China is building super sports stadiums at an enormous rate, stadiums that make anything in Europe look like old Roman ruin battlegrounds. The Asia Pacific is the future"
Rugby fans are questioning when is this circus show going to get back on the road to fair calls, fair management, and more professional commentators during Rugby matches. Most of the complaints against the IRB are about them recently favoring nations during important World tournaments, an unsportsman like reaction after Pacific Islander teams started taking over Rugby with Samoan Big-hits.
