Samoa vs Australia 2011
The Samoan vs Australia game in 2011 is one for the records and has been called "The game of lessons". A lot of hype and friction has been going around about Pacific Island teams and the players, mostly about new setups and a new generation, but also about if Aotearoa New Zealand is hiring all the best talent from Samoa and Tonga. Some sports writers have played with the angles and stated that New Zealand is "stealing" the Pacific talent pool, when Aotearoa New Zealand is still Polynesia.
It's hard to forget a game like this and the atmosphere before hand. Samoa played it's style of Rugby, which is "Big Hits Rugby", but since Australia is considered a friendly neighbor it wasn't at all that bad. It was clean hitting all the way, no anger, and a great game from both sides. Australia brought their style of Rugby as well which is pretty clinical and steady.
"I love Rugby big hits. Oh it's great to see the fancy running, the impossible hat tricks, the scrum power and skill, the perfect back passes, but... It's the big hits that just tip the game over the top"
"What to really say about this game? Well there's one Samoan and one Tongan on the Australian side that got some smashing too. Nothing to really say except it's all fair and full of awesomeness!"
This is still one of the top 15 favorite games ever seen which is why we did a recap review on it. The All Blacks have quite a few of the top games ever played and Australia too is one of the best teams in the World.
