World Cup 2015 Samoa vs South Africa
English referee Wayne Barnes
South Africa after being beat by Japan, one of the biggest upsets in Rugby History, was so desperate to save face, that most Rugby critics accused South African of cheating in it's next matches, first one being against Samoa. Media confirmed South African politics at play, influencing the game with the first 'Red Card' (high tackle over the neck against Alesana Tuilagi) within the first 10 opening seconds of the game, but ignored by Rugby commentators and English referee Wayne Barnes. Not only was the Red Card not called against South Africa, but the ball was then given back to South African possession allowing a kick to score the first 3 points.
Another uncalled High tackle by Wayne Barnes from South Africa
with several other overlooked penalties directly after
"If they cheat during the game, imagine the prep work before the game. Who knows the type of doping that could be used or other things"
Another high tackle by South Africa 4:37 minutes in the game and no call from the Referee, then 3 more questionable high tackles followed from South Africa with the booth commentators saying the Samoans should be more careful with their arm wrapping. Samoa continued a formal style of Rugby and continued going up the middle. The game was evened up at about 9 minutes 3-3. By the 11th minute Samoa was winning with another kick in. A clean but unexpected interception got South Africa back in the game and it was normal play as usual until the referee started up the whistle again. Western Samoa won the scrums, made Big Hits to pay back the carnage, pushed them down field proving the dominance of power, but South Africa made use of their speed, heart, and tactical mauls that may have played out a fair competitive close game, without the help of shady referee calls.
