ANSWER: There seems to be a big misconception as to where West Coast Gang culture originated from (If you're calling black culture just gang culture, which it's not). African American Culture is simply and uniquely the American spirit that has made quite an impact on the world during USA's golden eras of the 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, and 1990s...and trends, fashion, and language have come and gone with each generation. It is true that in the 1990s and early 2000s that Black rap music influenced not just culture in the USA but oversees in the UK, France, Germany, South Africa, reaching as far as East Asia in Korea and Japan. African American gang-slang did then "contribute" to an already exhisting underworld, but to say that African Americans invented clan or gang culture and that Samoans act like Blacks is untrue.
